KEIKO YAMAGUCHI
Yamaguchi lives in Nara, Japan, where she first began making her unique fiber sculptures in 1977, after obtaining a BA in oil painting and MA in printmaking from Tama Art University in Tokyo. Her haunting images are completely original and often combine aesthetics common to both Asia and Europe. She has exhibited in several cities in Japan, as well as at the Museum of American Folk Art and Julie: Artisans' Gallery, New York; the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Wisconsin; and World Dolls, Moscow. A monograph was published in Japan by Editions -Fuji Art in 1995, entitled "Faraway Land, Faraway People."
