MARIAN SCHOETTLE
Post Industrial Folk Wear is only one of Schoettle's myriad approaches to the garment. This seasoned artist has designed "performance" clothing, used natural weather occurrences to help create "storm" dresses, devised sound and light installations in Eastern European monasteries and built teepee space modules at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. Her work is in several museum collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
Amongst her numerous international grants, in 2007 she received funding from the New York Foundation for the Arts to explore her conceptual clothing.
